Franklin College Responsibilities

Michael Brewer is a UGA Web Developer Principal and a Certified HDI Support Center Analyst. Michael's responsibilities include developing and supporting applications for intranet and internet use, creating, managing, and assisting in the migration of databases, and desktop and network support; his skills include Drupal, PHP, Javascript, Bash shell programming, PostgreSQL, MySQL, data visualization, and git.

 

Professional Information

Michael Brewer is a graduate of the University of Georgia with an AB in Music and a BS in Mathematics, and has also done graduate work in Computer Science, Musicology, and conducting. He serves on the board of the United States PostgreSQL Association and has given presentations on PHP, PostgreSQL, SQL, open source in education, and geek culture at national and international conferences. He has recently been listed as a PostgreSQL Contributor.

 

Personal Information

Michael is an Athens native and is active in many community organizations, including volunteering for Campus Cats, assisting with community theatrical productions, performing with the Athens Symphony, and directing the Classic City Band (Georgia's oldest continuously-operating community band).
