New home for the Willson Center

Support for and promotion of the humanities and arts might appear to be a lower priority in many instances, for reasons we need not go back through. But one thing (at least) remains clear: vigorous support for the humanities and arts lets all and sundry know how and where they are vital, while providing inestimable opportunities for faculty, students and the campus community. That describes our Willson Center, and in a mark of our campus commitment to the humanities and arts, it now has a new home on Lumpkin Street:

[UGA's] Jane and Harry Willson Center for Humanities and Arts has relocated to a historically renovated two-story house at 1260 South Lumpkin St. The center's director, Nicholas Allen, invites the community to attend a dedication ceremony including President Jere W. Morehead and poet H. Bruce McEver on March 19 at 5 p.m. at the new location.

A catered reception will follow the ceremony. The event also will honor the Willson Center's 2014-2015 Faculty Research Fellows.

Congratulations on your new permanent home and continued best wishes in the many endeavors that strengthen our humanities and arts faculty and students.
