Buddhist author, documentary screening, Study Away Fair and WWI exhibition

Terrific opportunities today at every corner of campus (and downtown) to enjoy and engage, learn and discover.

The Creative Writing Program presents a reading by Ira Sukrungruang, author of the memoirs Southside Buddhist and Talk Thai: The Adventures of Buddhist Boy, the essay collection Buddha’s Dog and Other Meditations. Tonight at 7 p.m., at Cine, free and open to the public.

At 7:30 p.m. in MLC 101, the Institute for Women's Studies presents a screening of the documentary film, The Hunting Ground, followed by a panel discussion featuring Tayler Simon and Caron Hope from UGA's University Health Center Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention team, Sally Sheppard from The Cottage Sexual Assault Center & Children's Advocacy Center and Josie Leimbach from the Institute for Women's Studies.

The Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library hosts the ongoing exhibition War of Words: Propaganda of World War I, featuring war propaganda from 1914-1918 in many different forms, including posters, pamphlets and leaflets, magazine articles and advertisements, short films and speeches, and door-to-door campaigning. Drop by the Russell Special Collections Library anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

And of course don't forget the Study Away Fair we are hosting today at Herty Field from noon to 3 p.m. Students should come by, grab a snack and make plans for study abroad or one of our many domestic field study programs.

The richness of campus, today and everyday.
