Communications studies major Lawson Luckie’s success is anything but luck.

In the new Gamechangers series, UGA introduces the champions responsible for making Sanford Stadium electric during the Fall. These Dawgs play, lead, assist, and work no matter when or where. Lawson Luckie, a Franklin College of Arts and Sciences student and this week’s Gamechanger, represents excellence both in between the hedges and inside the classroom. Luckie is a tight end for the UGA football team with a deeply rooted legacy of greatness. His father and uncles all played for the Bulldogs, and this year his brother committed to the team as well.  

When he’s not catching an open field pass or pulling in a clutch sideline grab, Luckie is a communications major in Franklin. As a communications studies major, Luckie aspires to take his learning beyond the endzone. “My goal is to be on TV one day, in broadcasting or on a sports talk show,” he says.
