Submitting a Research Proposal All proposals for external funding must be reviewed, documented, and submitted by an Authorized Organizational Representative. Sponsor awards are made to the University of Georgia or University of Georgia Research Foundation, Inc. (UGARF), not individuals, and must be certified and signed by University-designated Authorized Organizational Representatives (AORs). Franklin College has a team of AORs who are able to submit most proposals on behalf of UGA/UGARF. In order to ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional polices, we provide: A 4-Day Promise for proposals fully built consistent with all sponsor, funding opportunity and UGA policies/procedures and not requiring any exceptional approvals. Franklin College REST will ensure the successful submission of all proposals received in complete form at least four business days prior to the due date assigned by the sponsor. A 10-Day Promise for proposals fully built consistent with all sponsor, funding opportunity and UGA policies/procedures and requiring one or more exceptional approvals. Franklin College REST will help coordinate exceptional approvals, and work with Sponsored Projects Administration to ensure the successful submission of the proposals received in complete form at least ten business days prior to the due date assigned by the sponsor. Exceptional approvals can include cost-share, export control review, and submission to restricted sponsors (e.g. DOD, NASA, etc.). Please notify REST as soon as you identify an opportunity that you'd like to apply to, so that we can verify if any exceptional approvals are required. Need an Overview of the Proposal process? See the REST Pre-Award Quick-Reference Guide! Step 1: Identify Funding Opportunities PIVOT PIVOT is a subscription database of more than 25,000 funding opportunities from numerous sponsors across all disciplines. UGA faculty, students, and staff can search the database and create custom email funding alerts based on the criteria provided by the individual user. The first time you login to PIVOT must be on a UGA computer to gain free access. Subsequently, you can log in from anywhere.
